Location  Renaissance Festival, 650 W. Perry Park Ave. Larkspur, CO 80118 - Map

For our 41st Anniversary season, we take you on a magical tour through time and legend. As you wander down the village streets and pathways of the Colorado Renaissance Festival, ready thyself to revel with master revelers, watch artisans create original works of their ancient craft and be taken in by the tantalizing aromas of roast turkey legges, steak on a stake, fresh baked goods and much more. Featuring a cast of hundreds of authentically costumed merrymakers living and working throughout the village and performing, continuously, upon the Festival's seven stages, the illusion of a rollicking 16th Century festival day is created.

Odysseus learns the hard way that one shouldn’t anger Poseidon. Ten years after the fall of Troy, our hero is still unable to make it home where, unbeknownst to him, his wife is being courted by 108 suitors! Set sail up the trail with us and encounter gods and goddesses, a cyclops, a whirlpool, a sea-witch, and more in this humorous adaptation of the Greek classic that would please even Zeus himself.

Audience and actors meet at the Chautauqua Picnic Shelter and take a moderate hike on the Enchanted Mesa Trail while scenes from the play are performed along the way. Approximate length of the hike is two miles with an elevation gain of 400 feet.

It's 1985, and rock star wannabe, Robbie Hart, is New Jersey's favorite wedding singer. He's the life of the party until his own fiancée leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who wins his affection. As luck would have it, Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and, unless Robbie can pull off the performance of a decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever.

With a score that pays loving homage to the pop songs of the 1980's, “The Wedding Singer” takes us back to a time when hair was big, collars were up, and a wedding singer might just have been the coolest guy in the room.

This sweeping musical portrait of early 20th century America tells the story of three families in the pursuit of the American Dream. At the dawn of a new century, everything is changing… and anything is possible. Set in the volatile melting pot of turn-of-the-century New York, three distinctly American tales are woven together -- that of a stifled upper-class wife, a determined Jewish immigrant and a daring young Harlem musician. Together they confront history's timeless contradictions of wealth and poverty, freedom and prejudice, hope and despair, and what it means to live in America. Critics herald Ragtime as "A triumph for the stage," and "the best musical in twenty years."

The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed into his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

The Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors comes to vibrant life in this musical parable. Joseph, his father’s favorite son, is a boy blessed with prophetic dreams. When he is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and taken to Egypt, Joseph endures a series of adventures in which his spirit and humanity are continually challenged. He is purchased by Potiphar where thwarting advances from Potiphar’s wife lands him in jail. When news of Joseph’s gift to interpret dreams reaches the Pharaoh (wryly and riotously depicted as Elvis), Joseph is well on his way to becoming second in command. Eventually his brothers, having suffered greatly, unknowingly find themselves groveling at the feet of the brother they betrayed but no longer recognize. After testing their integrity, Joseph reveals himself leading to a heartfelt reconciliation of the sons of Israel. Set to an engaging cornucopia of musical styles from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock ‘n’ roll (lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber), this Old Testament tale emerges both timely and timeless.

Welcome to the infamous Kit Kat Klub, where the Emcee, Sally Bowles and a raucous ensemble take the stage nightly to tantalize the crowd––and to leave their troubles outside. But as life in pre-WWII Germany grows more and more uncertain, will the decadent allure of Berlin nightlife be enough to get them through their dangerous times?

Come hear some of the most memorable songs in theatre history, including “Cabaret,“ “Willkommen“ and “Maybe This Time.“ Leave your troubles outside — life is beautiful at CABARET, JOHN KANDER, FRED EBB and JOE MASTEROFF’s Tony-winning musical about following your heart while the world loses its way

From the opening chords of vintage Country to Rockabilly, Rock n’ Roll, searing ballads and gentle songs of love and deep faith, Ring of Fire packs a score that provides a rich fabric in which to lay down the story of Johnny Cash. The show features 38 classic hits – including “I Walk The Line,” “A Boy Named Sue,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” and the title tune –and paints a musical portrait of The Man in Black that is a foot-stompin’, crowd-pleasin’ salute to a uniquely American legend!

What happens when one hasn’t planned very well for retirement? The fading yet formerly hit 60’s and 70’s rock and roll group of Willy Withers, Tina Tumor, and Rickie D. Bones are finding out. These aging rockers, forced to sing for their supper by taking any gigs they can, notice more each day how hard it is to “keep on keepin’ on.” The group forges a new bond as they give the songs of their youth fresh meaning--singing about such aging maladies as weight gain, memory loss, and gastric issues (think about having that first colonoscopy performed to the chorus, “Snake it up doctor, if you twist I’ll shout!”). Together these Boomers learn that while aging “ain’t for sissies,” they’re more than ready, with the help of their beloved rock and roll, to face and to celebrate all the challenges that growing older brings.
